A Fresh Guide To RoM Crafting Festival

The info here comes from the official patch notes and the english version of the craft event guide that can be found on the ever active US-forum and was once again written by Dollars. I also found the german version: [Guide] Handwerksfest, writtten by Fischblick – thanky to both for their efforts. Last but not least Ive etered some of my own experiences

Both foreign guides are from past years so some more changes could apply than what I found – if you find any, write about them in comments plz 🙂

Summer Event Festival Overview (Crafting Festival)

  • Festival Activities conducted in Silverspring and Thunderhoof Hills.
  • Festival Manager NPCs will be located in: Varanas and Dalanis City
  • 5 Main Festival Event Tasks
  • 6 Sub Event Task
  • Reward NPC in Varanas City and Dalanis City

Helping Hand of the Craftsmen

  • Event type: craft items
  • Start location: Varanas City
  • Event location: Varanas City
  • 8 timeslots each day: 12:20 am, 3:20 am, 6:20 am , 9:20 am, 12:20 pm, 3:20 pm, 6:20 pm, 9:20 pm
  • a broadcast will be sent out when the event starts
  • Event ends after 30 minutes
  • Event Target: assist the Craftsmen

Sloan Krug will do a server announcement that she needs help, so head to Varanas and talk to her. She will tell you which item she needs. You can get the recipes and supplies from Alber, Birdie, Fiona, or Mizner, but you will need to have the correct skill level to create the item. The event will last for only thirty (30) minutes and can be completed only once a day.

The Great Production Leap

  • Event type: level up crafting skills
  • Start location: Dalanis City
  • Event location: Dalanis City
  • Event Target: increase crafting skills

This is not a quest but instead if offers you the opprtunity to increase your crafting skills the fast and easy way. It only requires some gold in your pocket and that you have reached lvl 15 already in the skill you want to to increase. From there on you can increase your skills easily in a day to max lvl.

Go to Varanas Central and find Fiona and/or Mizner. As an alternative you can find Alber or Birdie in Dalanis (if you don’t mind the usual crash on arrival 🙂 All will sell you some recipies for crafting special event items which can only be made with special event materials. Fortunately those materials can  be bought from the same NPCs, so you can start right away. Some very extra special (?) materials can be bought from the other NPCs in the near area for event items.

Crafting those items gives you the same skill increase as ‘normal’ items of the same lelvel would. The good thing though is that you dont need thoses special runes and that the materials are much cheaper than the raw materials you would need in the normal process.

The drawback in that is that these items are absolutely useless crap, even with their nice names, so just junk them or sell them back for 14 gold apiece or so…

Remember that you can not master all skills with the same char so choose well which skill to lvl on which char.

Ronika’s Research

  • Event type: collect items
  • Start location: Varanas City
  • Event location: everywhere in Taborea
  • Event target: help Ronika to collect

This is located at townwards end of Varanas Bridge, its not a quest and the NPC is named ‘Myden Neil’ instead of Ronika but so what… In any way theres a couple of machines next to Myden. Talk to her and she will ask for help and explain the rules. The actual action starts when you click the big machine to activate it. 3 coloured buttons appear and you have to spam the right colour skills on the small parts that grow funny bubbles. Hitting them with the according colour skill gets you points that add up in a smallcounter next in your buff-icon corner. If you wait utill the bubbles have grown to the max you will get the most points. Note that if you cast the wrong skill points will be deducted, so be careful…

Asides from the usual bonus there are two titles to gain, one for getting minimum 360 points and making *no* mistake at all, another for destryoing the machine by doing *everything* wrong.

Flea Market

  • Event type: collect /get items changed for other items
  • Start location: Dalanis City
  • Event location: Dalanis City
  • Event target: Help Nobo Yanag to collect items

Talk to Nobo Yanag and offer to help. He would like you to exchange an item he no longer needs for one he does, so he wants you to go talk to the other vendors and see if you can barter for what he wants.

A Mission from the Craftsmen

  • Event type: collect items
  • Start location: Varanis City
  • Event location: Varanis City and Silverfall
  • Event Info: 6 Sub Quests

Armor Crafter’s Commission

  • To get it, you need to win a guessing game with Ailes. it is not much of a game, you just have to click each answer one at a time till you hit the right one, and you have to navigate the whole conversation every time to get there, in 30 seconds. The correct answer is random.

Alchemist’s Commission

  • He wants you to make a Mixed Potion by mixing 2 of the 4 bottles on the table, the chat box tells you what color to make. Real easy mostly but theres no real penalty for failure, so if you make a mistake just start all over again,

Carpenter’s Commission

  • Get 10 High Quality Wood from Suspicious Wood Pile in Silverspring just outside the Varanas Gate. Some will yield High Quality Wood (Rdb) and some just Rotten Wood which you can junk right away.

Cook’s Commission

  • Help the cooks. Catch Lively Fish from the shore of Lake of Magic Mist, then use the nearby Burning Fire (at the Vender Caravan camp) to roast up 3 Delicious Fish. Chances for that are less then 50/50 as you will mostly burn your smelly catch so prepare to repeat the process.
  • You cannot have more than 10 Lively Fish in your bags, so if you fail on seven you will have to do some more fishing.

Tailor’s Commission

  • Get 10 Black Boar Furs from Black Boars just outside of Varanas gate. Collect Sticky Gums (see below) and High Quality Wood on the way.

Blacksmith’s Commission

  • Get some Ice Crystals from Archibald ( next to farming skill tutors in Varanas East) and take them to Harriet (near smith in Varanas West) to get it cast into an Ice Crystal Ingot.

Nolikas Research

  • Collect 20 Southern Fern and 5 Sticky Gum.
  • Southern Fern is a common drop during the festival from all mobs of high enough level to grant you XP – probably you have it in your bag already. Sticky Gum can be collected from Broken Branches. Broken Branches are broken tree-stumps found in Silverspring near Varanas Gate.

Instance Preparation made easy

– or how to make Josie happy.

When you get asked to come to an Instance, make sure, that you can bring enough time for it. We do a lot of runs and if it happens, that you can’t stay for long enough, join it another day.

A second thing is, that we need people, who are geared enough to tickle bosses at least. If you don’t know, for which Instance you are ready, google it or ask the guild. They mostly love to help you out. (Sidepoke: Cadre Notes. As far as you know for which instance you are ready, edit your goddamn Cadre Note)

Bring enough bufffood and repairstuff with you. Noone minds, if you buy them a few minutes before the run starts, but letting a party wait inbetween is just pretty annoying.

Of course real life has primacy (if you have to go to the store to avoid starving, for example), but anything else (like minigames etc) has to wait, as far as you want to be a part of the run.

We have crafters, that are willing to make some food/pots for you, if you give them the needed materials.

Alchemy: Arenja (lvl 48)
Cooking: Josephinese (lvl 60)

For the people with low dura gears there is a possibility to get free golden hammers from tempest heights. From normal chests you have the chance to get strange crystals (20x strange crystals make 1x ancient treasure key (to be handed in at trading square, Obsidian Stronghold or Varanas East near Transporter.)) and ancient treasure keys, to open the chests, which give a chance to drop golden hammers.

Basicly it’s pretty easy.

You do your preparations, write /g inv and place your beautiful butt instantly inside the instance.
